There are aftermarket manuals available, such as Haynes and Clymer, but they cover a great many years and not very well. They may be fine, until you come across something on your bike that they haven't covered. The factory manual is produced by the people who designed and made your bike and covers only your model year, or those few years in which the design is stable.
