“NFHS Rules” allows official NFHS rule questions to be sent directly to your mobile device allowing you to challenge your rule knowledge and keep you aware of different situations for your chosen sports. For the sports that you subscribe to, it not only allows you access to the NFHS Rules but you can also gain the valuable knowledge found in the Case Books of your sports.

“NFHS Rules” app contains all the information found in the printed copy, but adds the key advantages of not only portability but the digital format also allows quick and easy searches to be performed.

A few friendly reminders about some requirements that need to be completed prior to the start of the season. 2017 VOLLEYBALL RULES MEETING The 2017 IGHSAU volleyball rules meeting will be posted on the Arbiter IGHSAU Officials’ Central Hub on Friday, July 28. Click on the RULES MEETING tab to view the meeting. A reminder that ALL in-state volleyball officials must view the online rules meeting EVERY year. All in-state officials must view the rules meeting by 11:59 p.m. On FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 or prior to working their first match in order to be licensed to work volleyball in Iowa.

Out-of-state officials are only required the Iowa rules meeting if they desire to be considered for post-season assignment; however, it is recommended that out-of-state officials view the Iowa rules meeting every year. 2017 VOLLEYBALL EXAM The 2017 IGHSAU volleyball exam will be posted on the Arbiter IGHSAU Officials’ Central Hub on Friday, July 28. Click on the TESTING tab, and you will find the exam listed under “Open Tests.” Your individual exam will consist of 50 randomized questions selected out of a bank of 80. There are True/False and Multiple Choice questions.

You may download and print a.pdf containing the bank of all 80 questions by clicking the “Download PDF” link under the title of the exam. Officials will be given three attempts to pass the exam with a score of 75% or better. Once a passing grade is achieved, you will not be able to submit the exam again. We recommend that out-of-state officials and non-varsity in-state officials also take the exam but it is not required. Please use the 2016 NFHS Volleyball Rules Book and Case Book/Officials' Manual for this season along with the 2017 IGHSAU Volleyball Adaptations and 2017 NFHS Volleyball Rules Changes. Volleyball officials registering for the first time will receive their book packet within 10 days of registration. ARBITER PROFILE All officials, please be sure you complete the following information on your Arbiter profile.

Log in to the IGHSAU “Official” group using the “Switch Views” function in Arbiter. Please be sure you have checked the “Ready To Be Assigned” box in the upper right part of the web page.
