Q: I'm looking to replace my EP2002 and just want to be sure that this new EP2 will replace it and will give me the ability to set different on/off timers for the hot water and the central heating? So how many timers can I set to control the hot water?

And how many different separate timers can I set for the central heating? A: Yes, it will clip onto your existing backplate for an easy swap. You will need 1 or more motorised valves on your system for completely independent heating and hot water. You can have up to 3 on periods for heating, and up to 3 on periods for hot water. Q: we have EP 3002, we can not programme the hot and central heating to come on at different time. I am looking to replace it with EP2 as I understand it has the same back plate.

Will I be able programme the central heating and the hot water independently. ( dual channel I believe)with this programmer.

Please advise. A: Yes, you have the option to programme them independently. However, you will need a fully pumped system with one or more motorised valves to have the heating on without the hot water.

Q: Hello, We have an EP2001 which is recieving power from the mains (as it has a backlight) but there is no wording on the display (i.e. We cant see options for turning on CH or HW) and therefore we cant turn the boiler on. I am thinking that the programmer is at fault, is it safe for us to buy an EP2 programmer and fit this ourselves?

Thanks in advance for your help, Laura A: Yes it is quite simple to fit. You just swich off the electric, then unplug the old programmer, plug on the new one, and switch the electric back on. Q: I have an old brown coloured Potterton ep2000 programmer which is unreliable. Is the backplate of the newer EP2 identical in template and wiring order to my old one? Also, could I keep the existing brown backplate with its present wiring,and just connect the front end of the newer EP2? As mine is set to 16 programmes, is there a switch in the EP2 for the same? Thank you for taking the trouble to answer my questions.
